Short Term Goals and Long Term Goals

Ever since I was old enough to understand the concept of goals, I was taught about having: realistic goals, reachable goals, always have a time frame and this I where short term and long term goals. The first time I was told about setting goals for the future I was intrigued, knowing that I had the power to control my future.I thought about it even then, when my young mind was still developing.

As my mind was developing I realised that just having a goal  was not enough, with every goal needed to be a plan of action. I also realised that everybody's goal was to be a billionaire when they "grew up" and taking into account that only one percent of the world were in that category, and so that goal was discarded and I started to work on new goals instead.

Luckily I was introduced to the love of my life -DANCING- it is my passion, I do it all day everyday, can't get enough of it. when I knew dancing was my passion I included it into my goals, my short term and my long term goals, even though I'm desperate for those goals to stay there, I am afraid that they will not be able to secure my future and support me.

what are short term and Long term goals

Short Term Goals

like I said at the beginning every goal that one has needs to have a time frame for achievement, other wise the goal will always be at the bottom of your priorities list. in a time frame you know you have to get it done and there is pressure on you to do so. (A secret to success - is to always have pressure on yourself to succeed.)
short term goals are usually small goals that are achievable within a short period of time, and involve the present, but just because these are small does not mean they are insignificant, they could be the goals that you need to achieve your long term goals.

Long Term Goals

Long term goals are usually big goals that need a big plan to achieve them. one needs to think of all the possibilities  that could stop one from reaching that goal then plan around those obstacles. without long term goals one will not know where they are going, because these usually concern the far future and these goals secure one's future. these goals are hard to set because of the huge amount of uncontrollable variables that the future holds that's why one needs to be very thoughtful and careful when setting Long term goals. never the less these goals also need time frame for achievement so that it is possible to prioritise them.

But no matter how much information I have about goals. Setting  these goals still bother me because first I need to put thought in to my Long term Goal and a lot of thought has to go into that because I have to make sure that this long term goal will secure my future. I also have to put thought into the obstacles that may be in the way  of achievement.

Basically a lot of thought has to go into setting my long term goals before I can even start with the Short term goals. and this is why I "worry" about the future. It's not that I'm worrying I am as a Capricorn being very thoughtful ensuring that I have a flawless plan. And so I question a future in dancing, even though it is my passion I have not planned my way through the obstacles yet.

All that needs to happen is more thought and stratification, and time put into a dream that will defiantly make a difference.

The Road Not Taken - by Robert Frost

The Road Not Taken - by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged at a Yellow woodAnd sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Introduction (The first post)

Introduction (The first post)
wow, so the future, constantly on my mind, no matter what.
I don't know why, maybe it's because I want to produce the right future from the very expensive education that my mom has paid for all by herself, maybe it's because in the future I want my life in the future to be different to what I have now.
I will always think about the future, even when I've reached the future that I think about today, this really frustrates me, will I ever formulate the perfect plan to make my future perfect, so that I don't have to worry about my futures future, This blog, are the formulations of that hopefully perfect plan. so watch this space, as the plan evolves, adding goals, adding steps for achievement, and visions for the future, It's gonna be a bumpy ride.
